so far

yesterday I put the crib up ( all by myself, I'm so proud) and put my new crib bedding in. I think it looks cute! here's what I have so far. My sister and I are debating on whether or not to paint, and what color to paint.

The things in the crib are wall hangings but I want to turn them into pillows instead. Hopefully my sister will be able to do that for me since I'm sewing challenged. I'm also trying to find a brown and pink polka dotted crib sheet. I think that would look cute too. I found some on Etsy but holy cow I can't pay 26.00 for a crib sheet! So I'll keep looking.

Nate has been diagnosed with Mitral Valve Prolapse. He has a pin sized hole causing leaking. Nothing to significant for now, but that is what's causing the Atrial Fibulation (abnormal rhythms). For now, he will stay on the meds that he's currently on, and he'll see his cardiologist in 2 months to see how it's going. The meds seem to be working, however there are drawbacks to the meds. One of them causes depression, and man, does it. Sometimes getting Nate to smile or be positive about anything makes me want to shoot myself. LOL. Other drawbacks are he's very tired all the time, never wants to do anything ( and I mean anything). Oh well, I guess I'll take that over other things that could be happening. So no surgery(yay) next month.

I love this picture

Update on Nate's heart

Nathan went for an echocardiogram and saw his cardiologist on Wednesday. His mitral valve looks great. Thats the good news. The bad news is that his aortic valve stitching looks to be coming unraveled and is leaking blood through it. He goes on the 24th for a TEE ( trans-esophageal Echo) and they will go down his throat and look closer to see the damage. Nathan asked what they would do to fix it, and his cardiologist said we wont go there now. Doesn't sound promising. But we will see what happens.

Tomorrow we are in car shopping mode trying to find Nate a car because he has to give back the rental on Monday. That's pretty much it!

I need help. I lost the battle on the first name, and I get to choose the middle name. The first name is Haley or Hailey, haven't finalized the spelling. The middle name however, isn't set in stone, and I need y'alls help. I love the name Brynn more than any other name. I just do ok? BUT my last name is Winn. Brynn Winn. Do you see where I'm going here? SOOOOO Haley Brynn Winn. TOO lame? or just go with it? Please leave a comment and tell me your thoughts. Even if you don't know me, leave an anonymous one if you'd like.

The Worst Week EVAR

Tuesday night Nate wrecked his car on the freeway- most likely totalled. Got that call no one wants at 1 a.m. Luckily he is fine! He is ok.
Thursday I get his call at 11:30 that his heart was "fluttering" again. Oh great. He has no car, and I am in Ogden. So I leave work and drive home, check Madison out of school, pick up Nate and Brylie and drop the girls off at my sisters ( again! thanks so much Trisha) and head back to the hospital. We get there and they're pretty skeptical and acting like Nate doesn't know what he's talking about...until they hooked him up and saw that he actually WAS in Atrial Fibulation. The doctor wants to admit him and keep him overnight to see if his heart would convert back to a normal rhythm on it's own, and if it didn't they would do the Cardioversion (shock to the heart) tomorrow. Well Nate is a bit sensitive and emotional and did not at all want to stay at the hospital. As they were getting his room ready--his heart converted back to a normal rhythm and all was well. They put him on a new drug and hopefully this will work. On our way home we stopped in Brigham City to get the rental car at the place the insurance set up for us, only it didn't exist. So we went somewhere else, only to find out they were all out. So we drove back to Ogden. Finally got the rental and drove home. THEN my car overheated on the way home. I thought we'd never get home. But here we are safe and sound!

Heart Problems

This morning as I woke up, I noticed Nate wasn't in the bed. I went out to the living room and asked him what was wrong. He said he didn't feel well. I said I was sorry and asked if he needed anything. He then told me about the "fluttering" he was feeling in his chest. That alarmed me a little bit, because of his previous heart problems( aortic valve replacement August of 2003). I said I was getting in the shower and I'd talk to him when I got out. I got in and started thinking about all the things it could be. I got back out and went to find him, and asked him a few questions, and noticed he was in pretty bad shape. I put my fingers on his neck to feel for his pulse, and it was just everywhere. slow fast fast fast slow nothing slow fast etc. I told him to go get in the shower because we were taking him in to the ER. I got the girls up and fed and ready, and myself ready, called my wonderful sister Trisha, and we dropped Madison at school and Brylie at Trisha's. We went to Mckay Dee and they hooked him up immediately and saw that his heart was racing all over the place. His heart rate was between 110-190 which it should be between 60-80. The called his cardiologist down and he went over some things with Nathan. One of the potential risks he was running, was a blood clot that could cause a stroke. They gave him some meds through IV to see if it would slow down, which worked initially but only for a little while. The next option, was to sedate him and shock his heart, to try to "reboot" or "reset" it. It sounds pretty bad but it really wasn't bad and worked! They came in to prep him, sent me to the waiting area and it only took about 10 minutes and he was back to normal. I am so glad too because I always secretly worry he will leave me all alone in this life with 2 ( soon to be 3) wild daughters and no one else will want me. We have these weird things that pop up every few years, I guess to remind us how fragile our lives really are, and so that we don't get too comfortable. Anyway, for those that care he is doing well and has a prescription that he takes now and has a echo cardiogram next wed and a follow up appointment on the 18Th, where he will meet with his (awesome) cardiologist and see whether or not his valve is holding up and if his mitral valve ( damaged by previous problems) will need to be replaced sooner rather than later. It's a scary thing, these dang heart problems. Please keep my Nathan in your "prayers" that he will be well and healthy and with me for a long time!

Are You Kidding Me?

I was browsing Ebay ( surprise surprise) and came across this : http://cgi.ebay.com/Baby-Morgan-thermal-yellow-lovey-security-blanket_W0QQitemZ320216891001QQihZ011QQcategoryZ117022QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

now, read the description. Is she joking?

stuff

Madison really likes school, which is good. She has to do a lot of reading, which I don't mind but she seems to fight me every night when it's time to do her reading, so today we're switching to reading right when she gets home, maybe she's just tired at night. I'm enjoying hanging out with just Bry on my days off. She really is a little sweetie. I'll only have 4 months with her alone until baby comes. I'm also getting ready (shopping) for the new baby, buying lots of cute stuff. I want to do her room in Brown and pink, I think that will be cute. I'm also looking to buy a new swing and bouncer since I gave mine away after I had Brylie. I bought a new saucer and of course a new carseat ( since my old infant one was expired). I'm going to start buying diapers and wipes next. I'm just so excited. I wish everyone else was as excited as me, but what can you expect when it's your third? People are just like "dont you know what causes that". Um yeah I do. And I like it!
